PAT-3+ usually refers to the Photo Articulation Test - third edition. It is a tool used for assessing articulation errors

  • Rapid and accurate assessment: The PAT - 3+ enables clinicians to quickly and accurately evaluate and interpret articulation errors. It consists of 72 color photographs, among which the first 69 photos are used to test consonants, most vowels and diphthongs, and the remaining 3 photos are used to test connected speech and the remaining vowel and diphthong.
  • Standardized scoring: The sounds elicited by the test are arranged according to the age of acquisition, and the summary/response form classifies the sounds according to the age at which 90% of the sample can correctly pronounce them. The results are reported as standard scores, percentiles, and age - equivalents, which provides a standardized evaluation basis for clinicians.
  • Easy to use: The test is easy to administer. The examiner only needs to point to the numbered photos in sequence and ask the child "what is this?", and then record the child's answer on the summary/response form.

  • Speech - language assessment: It is mainly used in the field of speech - language pathology to help clinicians identify children's articulation problems, understand the types and degrees of their articulation errors, so as to formulate targeted treatment plans.
  • Educational diagnosis: In educational institutions, it can be used to screen children with speech - language difficulties, so that schools can provide timely support and intervention for these children to help them improve their speech - language abilities and avoid affecting their academic performance and social communication due to articulation problems.
  • Speech - language remediation: A set of 72 color photos is provided in the form of a card deck, which can be used for speech - language remediation. Therapists can use these photos to carry out targeted training according to the child's specific articulation problems, and gradually correct the child's articulation errors.
